PRACTICAL GUIDES
How can you improve restaurant Wi-Fi?
A practical review of coverage, devices and network separation before buying more hardware.

Separate internet issues from coverage issues
Record where and when the problem occurs, how many devices are connected and which application fails. Compare a wired connection with a wireless one. If both fail at the same time, the investigation should go beyond adding access points.
Separate guests from operations
A guest network serves visitors who need internet. Review restrictions between that network, work devices and management systems with your installer. A different Wi-Fi name alone does not prove isolation.
Assess the space during actual operation
Include dining areas, patio, kitchen and checkout in the test route. Record drops and weak areas using the devices your team actually uses. Access point placement and cabling should follow a site assessment, not just floor area.
Plan the work
Prepare an inventory of routers, switches, access points, POS terminals and printers. Agree on a maintenance window, configuration backup where possible and a way to restore the previous state if a test fails.
What the handover should validate
Request tests of agreed functions: connected terminals, order printing, guest access and continuity while moving through required areas. Keep the inventory and instructions for obtaining support. Tests should match your equipment capabilities.
